Video Talk: Digital Twin Technology for Aerospace Manufacturing – gemineers at DMG MORI EMO 2025

At EMO 2025 in Hannover, we took the stage at the DMG MORI Tech Talks to share new insights into the future of aerospace manufacturing. In this session, our Managing Director for Product and Research, Dr.-Ing. Philipp Ganser, presented how digital twin technology is reshaping the industry and enabling smarter, safer, and more efficient production processes.
The talk, hosted by Michael Kirbach, Head of the Aerospace Excellence Center at DMG MORI, is now available as a full video recording (link below). It highlights how digital twins connect machines, data, and processes to create transparency across the entire manufacturing lifecycle.
A shared mission: advancing aerospace manufacturing
The aerospace industry is facing increasing complexity – from globalized supply chains and stricter quality standards to rising energy and material costs. In this context, digital twins are becoming a key enabler for process optimization and data-driven decision-making.
During the presentation, Dr. Ganser explained how our Digital Twin Platform connects real machining data with virtual process models to create a comprehensive digital representation of manufacturing operations. This allows companies to monitor, analyze, and continuously improve production processes with precision and consistency.
From data to insight: connecting machines and processes
At the DMG MORI booth in Hall 2 – Aerospace Area, visitors experienced live demonstrations of our Digital Twin Platform running on DMU 40, DMU 125 FD, and other machines integrated into DMG MORI WORLD. These demos showed how real-time process data, tool information, and machine conditions can be seamlessly captured and visualized, enabling operators and engineers to identify optimization potential instantly.
By integrating digital twins into production, aerospace manufacturers gain the ability to:
- Improve process transparency across the entire value chain
- Detect inefficiencies and predict deviations before they occur
- Reduce scrap, rework, and unplanned downtime
- Meet rigorous aerospace certification standards through digital traceability
Digital collaboration for smarter manufacturing
Our presentation also highlighted the close partnership between gemineers and DMG MORI, showing how collaborative innovation drives sustainable change in manufacturing. Together, we are bridging the gap between machine tool technology and industrial data intelligence to create future-ready production ecosystems.
For DMG MORI’s audience of engineers and decision-makers, this collaboration offered a tangible look at the future of hybrid production environments, where digital and physical processes merge seamlessly.

The tedious piecing together of fragmented digitalization solutions on the shopfloor is over. With gemineers, we bring together three essential building blocks – data acquisition, data processing, and data delivery – in one intuitive platform. It’s this powerful combination that makes our solution true Deep Tech.
