Description
DZ.NRW contributes to strengthening the technological and economic position of North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond. The project promotes the expansion of innovative simulation methods and the widespread adoption of Digital Twin technologies across industries. It enables the effective use of digital infrastructures and supports the development of sovereign data ecosystems for industrial applications. At the same time, the project advances artificial intelligence and integrates emerging technologies such as quantum computing into industrial Digital Twin environments. It accelerates technology transfer from research institutions to industry and strengthens collaboration between SMEs, startups, and established companies.
In addition, Digital Twins play a crucial role in enabling sustainable production. By supporting precise life cycle assessments and optimization of resource usage, DZ.NRW contributes to reducing environmental impact and improving energy and resource efficiency in manufacturing.
Role of gemineers in DZ.NRW
As a software solution provider, gemineers GmbH contributes its Digital Twin platform and software know-how to the project to build and maintain the digital backbone of the competence center. gemineers focusses on the following tasks:
- Concept Development: Contributing to system architecture and specifying software requirements
- Data Infrastructure: Establishing research and industrial data management environments in collaboration with partners
- Digital Learning Integration: Connecting the Digital Twin platform to eLearning infrastructures and creating relevant content
- Digital Infrastructure Lead: Leading the conceptual development as well as production and cloud implementation
- Ecosystem Development: Leveraging the existing customer network and supporting the long-term establishment of the DZ.NRW competence center
Summary
The DZ.NRW competence center establishes a comprehensive ecosystem for Digital Twin technologies in production, combining research, infrastructure, and industrial application. By integrating advanced technologies such as AI and quantum computing and enabling sovereign data ecosystems, the project creates the foundation for scalable and sustainable Digital Twin solutions.Through strong collaboration between research institutions, industry, and education, DZ.NRW accelerates innovation, strengthens technology transfer, and positions Digital Twins as a key enabler of future industrial value creation.
